It seems my thoughts have been on Chistmas Cocktails lately but judging by how popular our post on facebook was with our Coronarita Cocktails I thought I would share on the blog.

Coronaritas
6 bottles Corona Beer
1 part Tequila
2 parts Margarita Mix
1 part Triple Sec
1 Lime Wedge

Method: In a cocktail shaker, pour the Tequila, Margarita mix and Triple Sec into a cold shaker. Shake vigorously until ice cold. Strain into tall glass with crushed ice and salted rim. Top with Corona beer, lime wedge and straw.

Tip: please make sure you use large glasses that can accommodate a Corona bottle, these are typically made in the U.S. with Coronitas which are a smaller size bottle but are unavailable as yet in Australia.

Christmas Cocktail Drinks

I thought twice about posting this (for purely selfish reasons), as this is an amazing gift idea for friends and family and one I’m really keen to try at Christmas and relatively inexpensive.

MATERIALS

Ingredients for cocktail of choice (see mixer tags, above)

Decorative bottle
Hole punch
Scissors
Glue stick
Ribbon or twine

STEPS

  1. STEP 1

    Prepare cocktail according to tag instructions.

  2. STEP 2

    Decant into decorative bottle. Print label with recipe and storage instructions, and assemble as indicated on tag. Fasten to top of bottle using ribbon or twine.

  3. STEP 3

    Store, refrigerated, for up to one week.

Raspberry Basil Limoncello Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 pint fresh raspberries, plus more for garnish
  • 12 fresh basil leaves, roughly torn, plus sprigs for garnish
  • 1 lemon, cut into sixths, plus wheels for garnish
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup, chilled (more if you prefer the cocktail a little sweeter)
  • 2 ounces Limoncello
  • 4 ounces citron vodka
  • Crushed ice
  • Sparkling rose wine, chilled

Directions

Combine the raspberries, basil, lemons and simple syrup in a small pitcher and muddle until the raspberries are mashed. Add the Limoncello and vodka. Let chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Put crushed ice into rocks glasses and add some of the raspberry mixture. Fill to the top with sparkling wine. Garnish with lemon and raspberries and basil sprigs if desired.
